My Love For Hiking

Explore the World
Outside

I have loved the outdoors since I can remember and truly feel happier and more relaxed when I am outside. When I was younger I fell in love with running and exploring but as I got older I was able to venture out more and go hiking. It wasn't until I was a young adult that I really fell in love with hiking. It started with local hikes in Bend, OR and now whenever we go out of town we find a new hike to do. Even if it is pouring down rain or snowing I will always want to go. On this page I will reference some of the hikes I have been on and that I recommend and some of the hikes I am looking forward to trying.

Deschutes River Trail

The Deschutes River Trail

The Deschutes River Trail has always been one of my favorite hikes. I love it so much because you have multiple options. You can either take the loop that takes you through the Old Mill which is wheelchair and stroller friendly and still along the river. Or, you can take the more advanced trail which leads you through the nature route. I have been doing this trail since I was 14 and I think it will always be one of my top choices. I do love that it's not a long drive too!

Smith Rock Trail

Smith Rock

Smith Rock's Misery Ridge Trail has been one of the hardest trails I have done. With it's 600 foot elevation gain and steep trail it makes for a great workout. Although it was tough getting up the view was completely worth it. Smith Rock does have many other trail options that aren't as intensive and a beautiful walk along the Crooked River.

The Red Woods in Klamath, CA

The Redwoods

Hiking in the Redwoods has been one of the most peacefull hikes I've ever done. The enormous trees surround you and make you feel safe and tiny. The trees are not only huge but have a lot of character and look beautiful. Some of the trails lead you to hidden beaches or the Klamath River. We stopped and did some rock hunting to bring back some souvenirs that we found ourselves. I try to make it to the Redwoods everytime we visit Calafornia as there are SO many options.
